In recognition of Pride Month 2017 this month’s Wingman Wire honors Chaplain (Maj.) Countess Clarke Cooper, staff chaplain within the 113th Wing. Cooper is the recipient of D.C. Black Pride’s Welmore Cook Award for “outstanding leadership” in public service, education and ministry. And for a demonstrated dedication to uplifting and advancing the LGBT community. Employed at the U.S. Department of Education (ED) for 24 years, Cooper is also an award-winning artist, musician, minister and civic leader.
