SAN DIEGO (Nov. 8, 2016) The littoral combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8) arrived at its new homeport of San Diego after completing its maiden voyage from Mobile, Alabama. Montgomery is the fourth littoral combat ship of the Independence variety which features an innovative, trimaran hull, designed to offer unparalleled stability for marine and aviation operations in severe sea states.
