The Belgian Duke Leopold of Arenberg visited Arlington National Cemetery on April 14, 2015 and participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. "For me this is a very moving experience to pay respects to the U.S. Army. The American troops did a lot of good things in 1945 including liberating my mother from a German death camp in May of 1945. We are full of admiration and gratitude for what America has done for us during the Second World War and also now. We appreciate the service of your soldiers and we are here to express our gratitude personally,” said the Duke. The Duke visited the cemetery with a group of American wounded veterans and their families. For the past ten years the Duke has supported aid foundations for American wounded veterans and their care givers.
