Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force and U.S. Marine Forces Command from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Norfolk, Virginia, respectively, embarked on a 10-day mission to Boston aboard the USS Arlington (LPD-24) amphibious transport dock ship to showcase their amphibious capabilities. The Marines were able to share their knowledge to the public and anyone who came aboard the USS Arlington through static displays, tours and classes. The Marines also took part in a motivational physical training event while underway to Boston. Marines volunteered to march in the Boston Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and were given the chance to represent the Marine Corps.
