For more than a year, the Missouri National Guard has far exceeded its strength goals and today stands as the second-strongest National Guard in the nation. Produced by Sgt. Mark Owen. Includes soundbites from Col. John Overkirsh, director of manpower and personnel, and Senior Master Sgt. Carol Walsh, recruiting and retention superintendent.
Setting a new standard for personnel strength and readiness has been a major priority for the adjutant general, Maj. Gen. Steve Danner.
"Our recruiters have worked hard to make sure we're filling our ranks, and our Guardsmen and leaders have created an operational environment that people want to stay in," Danner said. "Whether they join for education, job skills, adventure or good old fashion patriotism, people want to be a part of the Missouri National Guard."
