The Aug. 21 event hosted by Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center, of the Arkansas National Guard, served to highlight the constitutionally unique mission of the Guard as a dual-mission community based force.
The Guard is not only charged with national defense, but responding to domestic emergencies in support of our fellow Arkansans and neighboring states. This exercise showcased the strong partnerships with local law enforcement agencies necessary to provide support during local emergencies. Participants included thirteen local, state and federal first-responders and law enforcement agencies.
