The longstanding tradition of earning ones spurs is a common sight within any cavalry unit in the U.S. Army. In this story, the First Brigade, First Cavalry Division held a Spur Ride in a very uncommon location, but the principle remains the same: prepare to be physically and mentally tough and complete the tasks and drills.
