Arabic is the native language spoken in Iraq, but English is becoming a second language for women in Basrah province, Iraq. With efforts of U.S. forces and the Women's Initiative Program provided by civil affairs and psychological operations, English classes are made available for women in Basrah who are willing to learn the English language. Includes soundbites from Capt. Rebecca Dupuy - 36th Infantry Division, G1 deputy and Spc. Valerie Hoff - 304th Psychological Operations Unit. Produced by Sgt. Desiree Lau. Also see "Breaking the Barrier, Interviews" in the Interviews section.
