USS Carr (FFG 52) approaches a distressed vessel off the coast of Sierra Leone. The vessel was spotted by two lookouts from USS Mount Whitney who noticed the crew waving red flags and signaling for aid. The six-man crew of the vessel had been at sea for 35 days and had run out of food and water.
