U.S. Soldiers participate in reception, staging, onward movement, and integration operations (RSOI) in the lead up to the 2026 U.S. Army Best Squad Competition, Sept. 11, 2026, at Fort Benning, Georgia. The RSOI included weapons issue and zeroing, packing list layout, and wearable technology issue. The annual competition tests the squads’ proficiency in their warrior tasks and battle drills to identify the most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined and fit team that is ready to fight and win, while demonstrating commitment to the Army Values and Warrior Ethos.
