An overhead view of the Canyon Lake Gorge. The gorge was carved by flood waters flowing over the spillway at Canyon Lake. The lake reached its peak elevation of 950.32' mean sea level on July 6, 2002. Up to 67,000 cubic feet of water per second flowed over the spillway to carve the gorge out of the bedrock.
