Air National Guard civil engineers complete an integrated base defense course in Fort Devens, Massachusetts, to train combat skills during Patriot Forge II, Aug. 10-15, 2026. The Region 1 Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force Working Group organized the training event to support Agile Combat Employment priorities. The training brought together Airmen from the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Maine, 157th ARW in New Hampshire, 102nd Intelligence Wing in Massachusetts and 103rd Airlift Wing in Connecticut. During the first portion of the course, participants reviewed foundational base defense concepts, including entry control point operations, traffic management, defensive fighting positions, vehicle and personnel search procedures, and responding to contact with hostile forces.
