U.S. Army Lt. Col. Corbett W. Baxter, exercise planner, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), discusses how the Africa Multidomain Training and Experimentation Center will support joint force modernization in Tan-Tan, Morocco, Aug. 6, 2026. AMTEC will enable U.S. and Moroccan forces to test, evaluate and iterate on emerging technologies in a realistic environment strengthening shared readiness and interoperability. This live-fire also demonstrates how AMTEC will provide dedicated physical space and full electromagnetic spectrum access to support defense-industry partners to conduct testing. As one of the early contributions under the U.S. Army’s Test Range Expansion Initiative, the demonstration proves there is opportunity for defense industry to conduct testing that is difficult to replicate at many U.S. ranges, reinforcing Morocco’s role as a regional security leader.
