Ollis distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, during a complex attack on Forward Operating Base Ghazni, Afghanistan, on Aug. 28, 2013.
President Donald J. Trump posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in a White House Ceremony on March 2, 2026. On the following day, he was inducted into the Pentagon Hall of Heroes.
