U.S. Soldiers from the 307th forward Resuscitative and Surgical Detachment and 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, conduct simulated realistic and complex scenarios involving treating injuries and performing medical evacuations during Justified Accord 2026 at Kenya Defence Forces School of Infantry, Isiolo, Kenya, March 3, 2026. U.S. Army Capt. Warren Kothrade, commander and critical care nurse, 307th FRSD, explains how the exercise polishes medical providers skills, allowing them to better support the U.S. and partner nations.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania, this year’s exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command’s largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Air Force video by Staff Sgt. Krystal England)
