U.S. Marines with Unmanned Systems Center of Excellence, 2nd Marine Division, participate in nighttime First Person View drone training with U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, at Setermoen, Norway, March 17, 2026. Researchers with Operational Energy Innovation, out of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, tested their Data Acquisition System using an Event Based Sensor to track drones in low-light and nighttime conditions to enhance counter Unmanned Aerial Systems capabilities, remaining lethal in the era of rapid growing, technology-driven conflict, during exercise Cold Response 26. A key component of NATO's enhanced vigilance activity Arctic Sentry, exercise Cold Response 26 is a Norwegian-led winter military exercise designed to strengthen collective defense capabilities and ensure U.S. forces can rapidly deploy and operate seamlessly alongside NATO Allies in challenging Arctic conditions.
