A Marine kneels in front of the fallen Wisdom Tree, which is symbolic of its beloved nature. In the background one can see the pavilion built near the tree which people aboard base used for special events such as picnics, or just to have a peaceful place to reflect or eat lunch....

This is what the base of the Wisdom Tree looks like after the storm brought it down. Before, the base had a large hole in the middle of it where people would often step inside of the tree and have pictures taken of them....

The Wisdom Tree (in the foreground) fell March 2 due to the strong storm that battered Quantico and the east coast. However, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs suspects that the tree standing right behind it is an ancestor of the Wisdom Tree due to its proximity to the old tree and the fact that it is also a willow oak....
