FORMERLY UTILIZED SITES REMEDIAL ACTION PROGRAM

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is remediating the Luckey Site in Ohio under the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). As of May 22, 2025, 85% of the site has been remediated, with over 229,000 cubic yards of soil excavated and more than 10.8 million gallons of water treated. Air monitoring remains a top safety priority—3,545 perimeter samples have been collected since 2018 with no regulatory exceedances. The Corps is committed to protecting human health and the environment throughout cleanup operations.

    ABOUT THE PUBLICATION

Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program

Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program

Curated selection of official publications developed under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). FUSRAP was initiated in 1974 to identify, investigate and, if necessary, clean up or control sites throughout the United States contaminated as a result of Manhattan Engineer District (MED) or early Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) activities. Both the MED and the AEC were predecessors of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). These publications provide technical and decision-making information and historical context about FUSRAP activities. They reflect USACE’s commitment to human health and safety, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and informing communities.
