Luckey Site - Air Monitoring Information Infographic. This infographic explains the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District's air monitoring efforts at the Luckey FUSRAP Site. It highlights why monitoring is critical during soil remediation and building removal and describes the use of personal, work zone, and perimeter monitors. These systems continuously track dust, lead, beryllium, and radiological particulates to ensure safety. All monitoring results have remained below regulatory limits, protecting both workers and the surrounding community.  less

Groundwater monitoring data release, fall 2024 sampling event for the Luckey FUSRAP site. Groundwater monitoring at the Luckey FUSRAP Site (Luckey, Ohio) was conducted September 16–18, 2024, to assess Atomic Energy Commission-related constituents of concern (COCs) prior to implementing monitored natural attenuation. Samples from 19 wells were analyzed for beryllium, lead, and uranium. Four wells exceeded USEPA maximum contaminant levels for beryllium; no exceedances were found in the residential well. Monitoring scheduled to resume in spring 2025.  less

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is remediating the Luckey Site in Ohio under the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). As of May 22, 2025, 85% of the site has been remediated, with over 229,000 cubic yards of soil excavated and more than 10.8 million gallons of water treated. Air monitoring remains a top safety priority—3,545 perimeter samples have been collected since 2018 with no regulatory exceedances. The Corps is committed to protecting human health and the environment throughout cleanup operations.  less
