Shooting incident at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center
MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER, Twentynine Palms, California – A shooting incident occurred at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, July 7, 2020.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. reports were made to authorities that there was an active shooter at the base promting a shelter in place order and closure of all gates.
At 8:30 a.m. an individual sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to a medical facility. There are no other injuries.
The shelter in place order was lifted at approximately 9:00 a.m. and all gates aboard the base have reopened.
The incident is under investigation.
