MARTINSBURG, W.Va - The 167th Airlift Wing Hosted FEMA as a staging area for relief supplies in response to the October 29 to 30 Storm that affected West Virginia. Food, Water, and supplies arrived in Martinsburg, WV starting October 31st and Army and Air National Guard Personnel were activated to support the emergency response effort.

The West Virginia National Guard has over 200 members aiding in recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy. The storm blanketed the state with heavy snow and rains and also had severe winds that left homes and properties damaged. Guardsmen are involved in numerous aspects of the operations from search and rescue missions to debris removal.
