VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Erie, Penn., native and McDowell Senior High School graduate, Lance Cpl. Stephen R. Campbell was selected by Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group’s leadership as the Marine of the Quarter aboard, June 27.
Campbell who is currently serving as a motor transportation operator at MCSCG was recognized for his outstanding performance of duty and a collective standard of proficiency that exceeded all of his peers.
Prior to reporting to MCSCG in May 2010, Campbell attended and graduated from the Motor Transport Instruction School in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
His parents James Campbell and Paula A. Oakes still reside in Erie, Pa.
Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group coordinates, manages, executes, and evaluates United States Marine Corps Security Cooperation programs and activities, to include assessment, planning, military related education and training, and advisor support to ensure unity of effort in building Partner Nation Security Forces capacity and capability in order to facilitate USMC and regional Marine Forces component support to combatant commanders security cooperation objectives.
