452nd Force Support Squadron Builds Readiness Through Education
MARCH AIR RESERVE BASE, Calif. — Education is readiness. Every degree earned, certification completed and promotion achieved strengthens not only an Airman’s career, but the mission itself. At March Air Reserve Base, the 452nd Force Support Squadron’s Base Education and Training Office provides the guidance, resources and support Airmen need to grow professionally while strengthening the readiness of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing.
Whether pursuing higher education, preparing for promotion or planning the next stage of their careers, Airmen can rely on the Base Education and Training Office for personalized guidance. Through Military Tuition Assistance, Community College of the Air Force counseling, financial aid resources and testing services, the office equips Airmen with the tools to achieve their educational and professional goals.
The office’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. Working alongside unit training managers across the wing, the team helps Airmen complete upgrade training, maintain qualification requirements and develop the skills needed to support the 452nd Air Mobility Wing’s global air mobility mission.
For Senior Master Sgt. Kristyn N. Parrish, noncommissioned officer in charge of the 452nd Force Support Squadron’s Base Education and Training Office, that mission begins long before Airmen reach their next milestone.
“Our mission is simple: we build the foundation of a lethal, ready and highly educated force,” Parrish said. “As the central hub for force development at March ARB, we provide the resources, academic counseling and training support our Airmen need to meet their personal career goals and execute the 452nd Air Mobility Wing’s global mobility mission.”
For Parrish, education prepares Airmen for far more than promotion. It develops the critical thinking, adaptability and leadership skills that strengthen individuals while enhancing the readiness of the force.
“Career development and mission readiness are two sides of the same coin. You cannot have a lethal, prepared force without highly developed individuals,” Parrish said. “Higher education and Professional Military Education don’t just help Airmen promote; they cultivate critical thinking, adaptability and leadership.”
That commitment is reinforced through partnerships with unit training managers across the wing, who help ensure Airmen remain qualified, prepared and ready to accomplish the mission.
“Never lose sight of the ‘why’ behind your daily tasks, which is supporting the Airmen serving to your left and right,” said Tech. Sgt. Jamil Antoine, unit training manager for the 752nd Medical Squadron. “If you consistently focus on making a positive impact on the people around you, excellence will naturally follow.”
The team’s commitment to force development recently earned the team an award during the Air Force Reserve Command Foundational Readiness Inspection, recognizing its professionalism, technical expertise and dedication to supporting Airmen across the wing.
For Parrish, however, the greatest measure of success isn’t an award, it’s watching Airmen realize their potential.
“Our biggest motivation is knowing that the guidance we provide can completely change the trajectory of an Airman’s career and life,” Parrish said. “Seeing them achieve their goals, whether it is earning a CCAF degree, getting a certification or pinning on a new rank; drives us to bring our best every single day.”
Education unlocks opportunity, but its impact reaches far beyond the individual.
