REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL – March 20, 2026 – The Capability Program Executive (CPE), Aviation's Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Project Office (UAS PO) awarded a production contract to AV for Long Range Reconnaissance (LRR) systems. These AV P550 were procured through the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Marketplace Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA).
LRR UAS systems provide maneuver Battalion Commanders with enhanced organic reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition capabilities, increasing situational awareness and standoff from potential threats on the modern battlefield.
"This award is a testament to the Army's commitment to rapid and agile acquisition," said COL Danielle Medaglia, Project Manager for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems. "The UAS Marketplace reduces traditional, lengthy procurement timelines to a few days. This allows us to get the most advanced capabilities into the hands of our Soldiers at the speed of relevance, ensuring they are equipped to meet current and future challenges."
