Marshall Center Virtual Seminar to Discuss Countering Transnational Organized Crime
Understanding today’s security environment requires collaboration. That’s why the specialized experts at the Marshall Center convened the alumni network for a virtual seminar to discuss Countering Transnational Organized Crime, hosted in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, on Jan. 21, 2026.
“By deepening our understanding of criminal networks and illicit markets, we can better apply that knowledge to today’s challenges,” said Cüneyt Gürer, Ph.D., Marshall Center professor for transnational security studies. “And just as importantly, continue working together to keep pace with emerging issues.”
Joined by Lin Todd, Ph.D., Marshall Center professor for transnational security studies, and Frank Lewis, alumni relations specialist, the discussion built on shared perspectives from across the alumni network, examining how criminal networks and illicit markets continue to adapt and challenge regional and global security.
The CTOC community is one of the Marshall Center’s largest and most active networks—more than 1,300 alumni across over two decades of resident courses—continuing to engage on shared challenges well beyond the classroom.
