All eight installation galleys throughout Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central (CNREURAFCENT) received five-star accreditation following the FY25 Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Galley Assessment.

Only galleys with the highest levels of food quality, preparation, inventory, training, safety, and sanitation receive a five-star rating during the annual assessment. The designation assures customers that a galley provides access to high quality, nutritious meals in clean, safe, and efficient environments.

Chief Warrant Officer Three Leah Caser, CNREURAFCENT’s Regional Galley Program Director, explained that galleys constitute an essential component of Sailor well-being and operational effectiveness.

“Quality food service plays a vital role in sustaining energy levels, supporting physical health, and promoting morale,” said Caser. “These efforts contribute to stronger unit cohesion, improved human performance, and ultimately, mission success.”

With diverse operational environments across three geographic combatant commands, each location presents unique logistical and cultural considerations. The CNREURAFCENT’s Food Service Program addressed this through a localized, adaptive approach.

“We tailored our support to meet each location’s individual needs,” said Caser. “That included providing specific training, new equipment, and standardized operating procedures, all while maintaining flexibility and respecting local constraints.”

CNREURAFCENT is focused on maintaining high standards and exploring new innovations through ongoing efforts, which include staff training, feedback collection, continuous modernization, and integration of the evolving nutritional landscape to better serve Sailors.

“We’re not stopping here,” said Caser. “We are building a culture of continuous improvement. Our goal is to set a new standard—not just meet it.”

CNREURAFCENT provides mission-critical logistics and support to the warfighter, their families, and the fleet across seven countries, enabling U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to maintain security, stability, and freedom of navigation in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
