    USS Frank Cable (AS 40)

SINGAPORE (Sep. 11, 2025) – Forward-deployed U.S. Navy submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) departed Singapore, following a scheduled port visit, Sep. 11.

During Frank Cable’s port visit, the ship performed maintenance and conducted a resupply for its continuing support of forward-deployed submarine operations in the Indo-Pacific. Frank Cable last visited Singapore in June 2022, when it hosted a visit by distinguished officials from the Republic of Singapore Navy, including the head of the Submarine Systems Center.

"We are very thankful for the hospitality shown by the people of Singapore during Frank Cable's visit to their vibrant city," said Capt. Mike Thompson, commanding officer of Frank Cable. "This engagement reinforces the strong, enduring partnership between the U.S. Navy and Singapore, an anchor in maintaining peace, security and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific."

The U.S. and Singapore navies share an excellent and longstanding defense relationship built on mutual respect and a shared long-term commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Frank Cable Sailors also participated in several community relations events, volunteering at a soup kitchen serving Singapore’s homeless population and engaging with local youth at a teen center, further strengthening the bonds between Singaporeans and Americans.
“Volunteering is a great opportunity for our Sailors to connect with the local community,” said Lt. Nikolas Fraustro, chaplain aboard Frank Cable. “These community relations events are a meaningful way to build positive relationships and demonstrate our commitment to service beyond the fleet.”

Frank Cable, forward deployed to Guam and currently underway supporting U.S. 7th Fleet operations, provides expeditionary intermediate-level maintenance, services, and logistics support to deployed submarines and surface vessels in the Indo-Pacific region.

U.S. 7th Fleet, the Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
