FORT SHAFTER FLATS, HAWAII, -- Col. Mary Jayne “MJ” Durham assumed duties as commander of the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB) from Col. Steve. Tribble during a change of command ceremony on the Field of Heroes from on Sept. 11, 2025.
Durham laid out her command focus during the ceremony.
“My responsibilities are twofold, to work up and out representing this formation, the higher headquarters, and sharing resources and guidance. And to work down and in focusing on the welfare, readiness, and physical fitness of every Soldier here. I intend to balance these requirements with integrity, commitment, and accountability.”
Durham, who previously served as commander at the 773d Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team (WMD-CST) in Kaiserslautern, Germany brings almost 23 years of military experience to the role.
Tribble praised his Soldiers for their accomplishments under his leadership.
“Over the last 26 months I’ve seen you train to support civilian authorities for your national disasters, strengthen regional partnerships across the Indo-Pacific, and hone your warfighting edge across domains. You tackle every mission, no matter how demanding, with quiet professionalism and fierce pride.”
Brigade Command Sgt. Maj. Kenneth A. Randles, who worked closely with Tribble for about 18 months, said Soldiers will miss the outgoing commander and praised Tribble’s leadership style.
“Tribble was extremely engaging, informative, open to feedback and always willing to hear out Soldiers and address concerns from the lowest level to the highest level of the formation.”
