    21st Theater Sustainment Command

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany- Soldiers assigned to 21st Theater Sustainment Command participated in Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) training June 17, 2025, at Panzer Kaserne, Kaiserslautern, Germany, as part of the Army’s continued effort to enhance total Soldier readiness.

Led by certified H2F performance professionals, the training combined classroom instruction and hands-on application to reinforce the five key domains outlined in Field Manual 7-22: physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, and spiritual readiness.

“Usually, Soldiers think that they are going to be in this class to learn ABCP, how to tape, how to implement the AFT, and how to do PRT,” said Sgt. 1st Class Martha Erosa, a physical therapy specialist with the Leader Training Brigade. “But really, we go beyond that, and we teach them the fundamentals for them to be able to create a good training program and bring it back to their units. We are agents of cultural change."

Erosa emphasized that the training isn't about fitness. It's about equipping leaders with tools to implement sustainable change across formations.

"They also learn a lot about general nutrition and sleep," Erosa said. "We try to hit all of the pillars of H2F."

Following the classroom instruction, Soldiers transitioned into hands-on training where they applied movement techniques, learned proper warm-up and cool-down protocols, and executed exercises focused on functional strength and injury mitigation.

“The biggest takeaway today really is the camaraderie,” said Staff Sgt. Isaiah Walton, a senior mechanic with the 515th Transportation Company. "Everybody here wants to be here, and everybody gave their max effort. So, once they actually get back to their units, they will implement solid plans for the readiness of the unit.”

The training supports the Army’s effort to build more resilient, capable Soldiers by integrating health, fitness, and performance into everyday operations. Events like this are part of a broader campaign to reduce non-combat injuries, enhance AFT performance, and ensure long-term operational readiness.

H2F continues to serve as the Army’s framework for sustaining and improving Soldier performance in a multi-domain operational environment.
