MAJURO, Republic of the Marshall Islands (June 5, 2025) – Forward-deployed U.S. Navy submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40) departed the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) after a scheduled port visit, June 5, 2025. Frank Cable’s visit to the RMI marked the first stop on its patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
“Kommol tata to the Marshallese people for hosting our ship and our crew in Majuro these past few days,” said Capt. Mike Thompson, commanding officer, Frank Cable. “The Republic of the Marshall Islands is a respected partner with deep ties to the United States and the U.S. Navy. These enduring bonds of friendship and partnership are centered in part on our shared history, shared values, and our shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific.”
Majuro Atoll served as the backdrop for the beginning of Frank Cable’s patrol, providing a new cultural experience for crew members. The port visit also provided the opportunity to onload stores and supplies.
Frank Cable, forward-deployed to the island of Guam, provides expeditionary intermediate-level maintenance, services, and logistics support to deployed submarines and surface vessels in the Indo-Pacific region.
Frank Cable is underway supporting 7th Fleet, the U.S. Navy’s largest forward deployed numbered fleet, operating with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
