Using an Alamo Wing C-5M Super Galaxy, a 68th Airlift Squadron aircrew transported personnel, vehicles, and cargo across Chile during the opening phase of the multinational special operations exercise taking place from May 26 to June 8. Southern Star ‘25 unites forces from six nations and 10 observing countries, totaling over 2700 participants to enhance interoperability and strengthen global SOF partnerships through joint training from as far north as Antofagasta to the southern region of Punta Arenas. This mission included an opportunity to conduct an engines running offload, which is an essential maneuver when conducting operations in a hostile area. The sortie demonstrated 433rd AW Citizen Airmen are ready to operate as part of the total force and alongside allies and partners.
