JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Col. Robert L. Simmons assumed command of the 433rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron here Feb. 4, 2024. Prior to becoming commander of the 433rd AMDS, Simmons served as an Individual Mobile Augmentee to the 51st Medical Group commander at Osan Air Base, Korea. Before that, he commanded the 913th AMDS at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.
The peacetime mission of the 433rd AMDS is to medically qualify 433rd Airlift Wing airmen for worldwide duty through healthy promotion and delivery of superior quality health readiness. During wartime, the unit provides fit-to-fight medical support to the wing and augments a fixed medical facility in support of the warfighter.
