MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Leaders from MyNavy HR's Force Development team gathered Sept. 14-15 at Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) headquarters to develop improved strategies in support of fiscal year 2024’s recruiting goals.

Representatives from Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), NRC, and members of the MyNavyHR enterprise applied root cause analysis to identify and remove recruiting barriers in order to address the Navy’s projected shortfall of 7,000 recruits in fiscal year 2023.

"Our recruiters have been doing a phenomenal job in a challenging recruiting environment," said Rear Adm. Alexis "Lex" Walker, NRC's commander. "Our recruiters are our center of gravity – the entirety of the recruiting enterprise must be equipped with the policy and knowledge that enable informed decision making at the lowest levels."

The Navy's Problem Solving and Process Improvement Office facilitated the two-day offsite focused on barriers to marketing agility, effective data analytics, command and control, and loss reduction.

"We will make great strides through the aggregation of marginal gains," said Rear Adm. Jeffrey Czerewko, NETC commander. "Success will require total commitment from the entire Navy team through critical self-assessment, improved quality assurance, and the aggressive removal of barriers faced by our recruiters."

Naval Education and Training Command's mission is to recruit, train and deliver those who serve our nation by transforming civilians into highly skilled, and combat ready warfighters.
