Billings, Mont. – The Montana Army National Guard will hold a change of command ceremony on Friday, November 4th as Capt. Jacob Pancheau relinquishes command of the 1063rd Support Maintenance Company to 1st Lt. David Morris. The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the Billings Armed Forces Reserve Center at 2915 Gabel Road in Billings.

Pancheau led the unit during their recent year-long deployment to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Spartan Shield. The unit deployed in October 2021 and returned home to Montana in August. He lives in Billings and serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at MSU - Billings and Rocky Mountain College.

Morris deployed with the unit in support of Spartan Shield as a platoon leader and as the forward logistics officer in charge in Jordan. He lives with his wife, Laura, son, Landen, and daughter, Danika in Bozeman, where he works as a Montana Highway Patrol Trooper.

As incoming commander, Morris says his goals for the unit are to reset the unit’s equipment after their deployment, develop Soldiers and build a team mentality.

The 1063rd Support Maintenance Company provides ground maintenance support by helping fix every type of vehicle used by the National Guard.
