BROKEN BOW, Okla. – Effective 23 August 2022, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a moratorium on all new development at Broken Bow Lake due to the ongoing update of the Broken Bow Lake Master Plan.
While in effect, the USACE will not review any proposals for new development around the lake, but maintenance within existing leases will continue to be reviewed in accordance with the established procedures.
The moratorium is needed to ensure effective master planning as part of the update to the Broken Bow Lake Master Plan. This moratorium will not affect any ongoing or formally requested development.
The USACE Tulsa District anticipates the Master Plan update will be complete by December 2023. Once complete the public will be notified and any new proposals for development can then be submitted and reviewed. The public is encouraged to comment during the available public comment periods to ensure their voice is heard.
For additional information, please contact the Tulsa District at 580-326-3345.
