Q-WEST BASE COMPLEX, Iraq " Twenty-eight Force Protection Services personnel received Certificates of Appreciation for their service at the FPS award ceremony Nov. 26 here.
"[Force Protection Services soldiers] have made great improvements [in Q-West] throughout the year," said Lt. Col. Richard Curry, 1st Battalion 107th Cavalry, battalion commander of the National Guard unit from Stow, Ohio and Q-West base commander.
1st Sgt. Abdali Hamed Abdullah and Col. Mohammed Kahamis received Army Commendation Medals sent by Bob Taft, governor of Ohio. 1st Sgt. Abdali Hamed Abdullah was promoted to Sergeant Major of Force Protection Services.
