PENSACOLA, Fla -- Rear Adm. Cynthia Kuehner, Commander, Naval Medical Forces Support Command (NMFSC), and Command Master Chief Richard Putnam visited Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC), June 8-10.

During Kuehner’s stay, she had the opportunity to visit local detachments of NMOTC, to include the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI) clinic and academics headquarters in addition to the Joint En-route Casualty Care (JECC) training center in Fort Rucker, Ala., the Naval Survival Training Institute (NSTI), to include Aviation Survival Training Center (ASTC) Pensacola. She also made a visit to Naval Medical Readiness & Training Center Pensacola. Kuehner had the opportunity to interface with members of the training detachments, answer questions from Sailors and experience first-hand some of the operational training that NMOTC provides.

“The visit to NMOTC was incredible,” said Kuehner. “Every stop demonstrated the complex, coordinated system of training that ensures an operationally-prepared force. I was impressed by the professionalism of the instructors and staff, who know their jobs and are proud of the work they do to meet the Navy’s mission and support the Surgeon General’s 4 Ps - People, Platforms, Performance, and Power!”

Before departing, Kuehner hosted an all-hands call with Navy Medicine Sailors and civilians assigned to NMOTC to thank them for their hard work, let them know that the highest levels of the Navy appreciates them, present awards and recognize individuals as well as discuss the future of Navy Medicine and medical warfighters.

“NMOTC headquarters, NAMI and NSTI headquarters, to include ASTC Pensacola, were pleased to host Rear Adm. Kuehner this past week for a site visit,” said Capt. Matthew Hebert, commanding officer of NMOTC. “This visit allowed NMOTC a very special opportunity to showcase direct support for the Surgeon General's 4Ps. It was a pleasure to introduce her to the Navy's finest Sailors and civilians who provide the day-to-day work and quality training performed all over the country, every single day that produces well-trained student graduates, directly supporting operational medicine and aviation survival ensuring top-quality fleet readiness for Navy and Marine Corps warfighters."

NMOTC is an echelon command under NMFSC and the Bureau of Navy Medicine and Surgery.
