MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. — U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Nicholas Bonello and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Jillian Frazier earned recognition as the 2021 senior NCO and NCO for the first quarter, respectively, for the Air National Guard's I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in East Tennessee.
Both Airmen are assigned as professional military education instructors for TEC's total force Chief Master Sergeant Paul H. Lankford Enlisted PME Center on McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base.
Supervisors said that Bonello built NCO academy virtual course management and revised 89 discussion threads for 216 students and six future classes. He mentored 31 total force NCOs as well as instructed 260 curriculum hours, including 248 assignments. His efforts molded future leaders and awarded 155 Community College of the Air Force credit hours. He also renewed the instructor qualification training section, fixed discrepancies, and aligned the program with program management review checklists. Those actions certified three trainers and increased output by 60 percent.
Supervisors said that Frazier demonstrated exemplary job performance and leadership as an NCOA subject-matter expert. She teamed with four other faculty to train 20 instructors on new lessons and academic standards through 14 days and 20 hours of training. She additionally coordinated 10 U.S. Air Force Academy leadership sessions for 40 personnel which ensured Lankford Center's Southern Association of College's accreditation through Air University. As the NCOA Team Lead, she led 15 class flights, 19 instructors, and 186 students through curriculum changes during a global pandemic that demanded virtual training.
Both Airmen are additionally exemplars of community service, supervisors reported.
