SOUTHWEST ASIA " The U.S. Air Force continued to support Pakistan-led earthquake recovery operations by airlifting much-needed supplies into the devastated region Saturday and Sunday.
Three U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules, one C-17 Globemaster, and one contracted B-747 flew in more than 200,000 pounds of medical equipment, aircraft parts and various supplies in response to requests from Pakistan's government. The B-747 carried aircraft parts donated by the Egyptian government.
To date, the U.S. Air Force has airlifted over 7.5 million pounds of relief supplies to Pakistan.
The United States will continue to meet the challenges presented by weather, terrain, and sheer magnitude of this tragedy with technology, innovative planning and determination, in support of the people of Pakistan.
