    4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade

FORT CARSON, Colo. – Early this month, soldiers from 22nd Human Resources Company, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, held a casing ceremony at the William “Bill” Reed Special Events Center to prepare for a future deployment.
“The ‘Rival’ team is a highly trained group of human resource subject matter experts who are eager and ready to provide world class sustainment support,” Lt. Col. Gavin Luher, commander, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4SB, 4ID said. “They will be providing accountability through theater gateway operations, mail support, and casualty liaison services.”
The Soldiers of the 22nd HR have worked tirelessly throughout the past year to prepare for their mission.
“The company stood up new HR Readiness teams to assist brigades and battalions across the Ivy Division, leading to an overall increase in human resources readiness across the 4th Infantry Division,” said Capt. Kyle F. Garis, commander, 22nd Human Resources Company, 4STB, 4SB, 4ID. “We provided on-going support to Fort Carson’s Department of Human Resources at the Soldier Readiness Processing site. And the 22nd HR remains the first human resources company to have successfully executed critical mission essential task training at the installation’s U.S. Post Office.”
The Soldiers, non-commissioned Officers and Officers of the 22nd HR will be spread across multiple countries within the United States Central Command area of responsibility during their nine-month deployment.
“Their operations and impact will span across the Middle East as they will work closely with our sister services and military partners from our allied nations,” Luher said. “The ‘Rivals’ are disciplined, professional, and motivated. I can think of no better organization to serve as ambassadors on behalf of the American people and the United States Army.”
The company recognizes that deployments affect more than just the Soldiers, Garis said.
“Behind each Soldiers stands a story- families, spouses, children and significant others,” Garis said. “We understand that being absent from home for nine-months takes it toll on both Soldiers and families. We thank them all for endless sacrifices they make on behalf of the Soldiers and our country.”
