    Naval Medical Center - Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Dec. 10, 2019) Naval Medical Center Portsmouth’s (NMCP) Pediatric Inpatient Ward patients and beneficiaries received a welcoming surprise visit from Santa and his helpers on Dec. 10. NMCP staff members and the American Red Cross volunteered alongside Santa and his helpers to deliver presents and stockings to the children. Operation Santa, which is sponsored annually by the American Red Cross, visits staff members and beneficiaries throughout the medical center, handing out candy canes and gifts, and stopping for photos along the way.

As the U.S. Navy's oldest, continuously-operating hospital since 1830, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth proudly serves past and present military members and their families. The national acclaimed, state of the art medical center, along with the area's ten branch and TRICARE Prime Clinics in the Hampton Roads area. The medical center also supports premier research and teaching programs designed to prepare new doctors, nurses and hospital corpsman for future roles in healing and wellness.
