DALLAS – Buying big-ticket items like electronics, jewelry or appliances is an investment. Military shoppers at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service can protect their investments with Exchange Protection Plans, powered by Asurion.

Protection plans guard against common factors that can damage or destroy items, such as accidental damage from handling; breakdowns due to heat, dust and humidity; power surges; and wear and tear. Shoppers can add protection plans to their purchases of TVs; gaming consoles; computers; electronic accessories; jewelry and watches; appliances; lawn and garden items; sunglasses; and more for as little as 2% of the price of the protected item.

Exchange shoppers also have the option of adding AppleCare+ protection to their Mac computer, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Apple Watch and other Apple purchases. The plans can cover screen damage, theft, batteries and more.

“Exchange Protection Plans and AppleCare are two great ways to protect purchases,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. “Military shoppers can make the smart move by preparing for the unexpected.”

The Exchange recently expanded protection plans for TVs starting at $200 to include a four-year option. Previously, TVs priced $200-$499.99 only had three-year plans available.

CONUS shoppers now have an easier way to track their protection plans too: They can text a photo of their receipt to Asurion to have it saved on file. If the item ever needs to repaired or replaced, shoppers won’t need to track down their original paper receipt—Asurion will be able to look up the receipt by phone number. (Shoppers, including those in OCONUS, can also register their plan online.)

The Exchange Protection Plans come in varying lengths, from one-year to lifetime warranties. Shoppers can easily add an Exchange Protection Plan or AppleCare+ to eligible purchases by speaking with an associate at checkout or by adding to online purchases when prompted at ShopMyExchange.com.

Facebook-friendly version: Smart, safe and secure: Exchange Protection Plans protect military shoppers’ big purchases. Army & Air Force Exchange Service shoppers can add on a plan when they buy TVs, gaming systems, computers, jewelry, appliances, sunglasses and more. AppleCare+ is also available for select Apple purchases. Read more on how to keep your purchases safe: https://wp.me/p9Q7PG-19O.
