DALLAS – Soldiers, Airmen, retirees and families at Joint Base Langley-Eustis have a reason to smile a little brighter.

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service opened a DOCS Dental mobile dental office at Fort Eustis on July 8. Patients can receive dental services including checkups, X-rays, cleanings, crowns, bridges, orthodontics, oral surgery and more at the mobile office until it is replaced by a permanent location in Bldg. 1527, near the Exchange administrative offices, later this year.

“Health, including dental health, is critical to military readiness and resiliency – Soldiers and Airmen can’t deploy if they don’t have a clean bill of dental health,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “Bringing the dental office inside the gates makes it easier for service members, retirees and their families to access this vital health service.”

The Exchange operates permanent dental offices at Forts Irwin, Hood and Stewart—with plans to expand to more installations—but the JBLE location is the first mobile office. The mobile office is housed in a 53-foot-by-34-foot trailer and can serve three patients at a time. Tri-Care and most insurances are accepted.

Increasing health and wellness services is a focus of the Exchange.

“It can be difficult for members of the military community to find time and transportation to get to off-installation medical appointments,” Reyes said. “The Exchange is aiming to make living a holistically healthy lifestyle easier and more affordable for the nation’s heroes and their families.”
