DENVER (NNS) – Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Rocky Mountain held a change of command ceremony where Cmdr. Chris Webster was relieved by Cmdr. Frank Ryan as the commanding officer of NTAG Rocky Mountain, May 17.
The event also served as a retirement ceremony for Webster, a native of Dodge City, Kansas, honoring his 22 years of naval service.
“Thank you for your unwavering support and always giving 110 percent,” said Webster, addressing the command. “When you put so much of yourself, your energy and your emotions into something like this enterprise, you want to know that everything will be ok when you’re gone. Rocky Mountain, I can tell without any hesitation, that this command is in great hands.”
Commander, Navy Recruiting Region West, Capt. Glen O’Loughlin, was also in attendance and officiated the transfer of command as the presiding officer for the ceremony. Capt. Christian Stover, NRC’s director of field operations, was also an honored guest and a principal speaker.
“The pride and focus that I observed in the NTAG Rocky Mountain team is inspirational, and a testimony to what can be accomplished when all our uniformed and civilian staff embrace a common vision,” said O’Loughlin. “Rocky Mountain was not the first Navy Recruiting District (NRD) to transition to the NTAG concept, but in the words of my close associate, Capt. Stover, NTAG Rocky Mountain took the Navy Recruiting Command concept and molded it into a stellar model. Thank you, Cmdr. Webster, for leading this command through it all.”
Ryan, a native of Peekskill, New York, enlisted in the Navy in 1992 and was later commissioned in September, 2000 as a surface warfare officer. He assumed duties as executive officer for NRD Denver in December, 2017, and will continue his career as the commanding officer of NTAG Rocky Mountain.
“The ability to lead a successful command relies on empowering our Sailors to seek and promote excellence,” said Ryan. “NTAG Rocky Mountain had a very successful FY18. Although our mission has been significantly increased for FY19, I’m confident that this command, will lead the nation now and in the future. Today I am humbled and very proud to take the helm of this fine organization.”
NTAG Rocky Mountain, based in Denver, recruits the best and brightest for the six state area surrounding Colorado.
Navy Recruiting Command consists of a command headquarters, three Navy Recruiting Regions, 18 Navy Recruiting Districts and eight Navy Talent Acquisition Groups that serve more than 1,330 recruiting stations across the world. Their combined goal is to attract the highest quality candidates to assure the ongoing success of America’s Navy.
