Gov. Jared Polis will host the Western Region One Source ribbon-cutting ceremony 9 a.m. May 9, 2019, at 482 28 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81501.

The WROS, located in a state-owned, former Colorado National Guard armory, connects service members, veterans, and their families with a wide range of community services.

"I’m in Grand Junction to celebrate our amazing new Western Region One Source that will help western Colorado veterans build a bright future for themselves and their families," Gov. Polis said. "This new One Source is a shining example of what our state can achieve in concert with our caring communities."

“We opened the doors of the new Western Region One Source in Grand Junction under budget and ahead of schedule to better serve Colorado’s growing population of veterans and their families,” The Adjutant General of Colorado U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael Loh said. “The One Source is already making a difference in the lives of those who, through service and sacrifice, made a difference in ours.”

More than 400,000 veterans call Colorado home, with about 10 percent living in the 24 counties along the Western Slope. The One Source is less than a mile from a major veteran-serving medical facility, the VA Western Colorado Health Care System, which is already a destination for about 15,000 veterans, in the western region.
Contractors from Grand Junction and other communities along the Western Slope provided most of the design, construction, materials and labor. The Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs financed most of the renovation, which cost about $3.5 million.
