TAJI, Iraq -- Iraqi Army Soldiers found a weapons cache while patrolling near a major thoroughfare north of Baghdad Oct. 1.
The Soldiers found a 155-millimeter artillery shell, five mortar shells ranging in size from 100-millimeter to 120-millimeter, a box of rocket fuses, and five pounds of plastic explosives.
The patrol also recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, a flare gun, and two remote-control detonators.
The munitions were destroyed by a military explosive ordnance disposal unit.
