CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs state employees will team up with Colorado National Guard Soldiers, Airmen, and their families to march to fight hunger in our communities March 15 in Centennial, Colorado.

Members participating in the 3rd annual March to Fight Hunger event will carry rucksacks full of non-perishable food and high demand personal products, such as toothpaste and shampoo, five miles to a drop off point in Parker, Colorado.
"It’s an honor to belong to an organization like the Colorado National Guard because our culture is built upon a foundation of service to our community,” U.S. Army Chaplain Maj. David Nagel said.

"One of the main reasons we joined the Guard is so we could spend our lives in service to our neighbors. This annual community building event gives our Troops an opportunity to show generosity and provide hope to those who are walking through a difficult time,” Nagel said.

The CONG has been collecting donations at various locations across the Denver metropolitan area.

Participation in the march is voluntary.

Community members are welcome to join in the march or cheer on the participants as they pass.
