    SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich.— The 127th Logistics Small Air Terminal and passenger section provided deployment support to the 51st Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Team in a Deployment Readiness Exercise on March 3, 2019.

    The LRS Airman loaded five emergency response vehicles and a range of gear into two C-17’s to support the 51st’s deployment. The C-17’s were from the Mississppi and West Virginia Air National Guard.

    The 51st consists of 18 Army and four Air National Guard Members that supports local and state authorities during natural or man made disasters.

    The 127th Logistics Readiness Squadron small air terminal stands ready to respond to any military service branch who need Mobility, Readiness and Transportation support.

    The 51st CST called upon the 127th LRS for their annual joint operations DRE with CST members in the St. Croix, Virgin Islands in a mock emergency joint operations scenario of a nuclear, chemical and or biological threat.

    “Getting the expertise of both Air Force and Army is essential in real world application.They allowed us to get loaded quickly to get to our deployment mission,” said Lt. Col. Chad Randall, 51st CST Commander for the CST

    “ It is important to support reaction forces to get them processed in a timely and effective manner,” said Master Sgt. David Borg 127th LRS.
