As staff nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, Mary Crittenden provided professional clinical and administrative services in the Navy’s busiest Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, caring for adult patients across the spectrum. Crittenden is the “go to” primary charge and resource nurse, overseeing and guiding clinical care while supervising 10 to15 staff per shift. She responded to alerts throughout the medical center, including code blue, stroke, STEMI and inpatient rapid response, providing the clinical expertise that is expected of a critical care nurse. She is always there to assist while maintaining a high level of professionalism and teamwork during the most stressful conditions. Her conduct is of the highest caliber and she often volunteers to assist with additional duties. see less
