Lt. Gen. Jeffrey L. Harrigian flew his “fini flight” or final flight in the F-22 Raptor as U.S. Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) Commander at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, Aug. 8. Lt. Gen. Harrigian has served as the AFCENT Commander and Combined Force Air Component Commander (CFACC) for U.S. Central Command since July 2016. He has flown multiple combat sorties in the F-22 as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the mission to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria. As CFACC, he leads U.S. and Coalition air operations for OIR and also against the Taliban and terrorist networks as part of Operation Freedom's Sentinel in Afghanistan. Lt. Gen. Harrigian will relinquish command of AFCENT to Maj. Gen. Joseph T. Guastella, Jr. in a change of command ceremony at Al Udeid Air Base, Aug. 30.
